The Disasters Emergency Committee
DEC members are providing humanitarian aid in the wake of the earthquake which struck Haiti in January 2010. The latest estimates are 230,000 people killed, 300,000 injured and 1.2 million left needing emergency shelter. Survivors lost family, homes, livelihoods and essential services. Hospitals, schools and government buildings were all destroyed.

RNLI
The Royal National Lifeboats Institution is the charity that provides a 24-hour lifesaving service around the UK and Ireland. People from all walks of life help the RNLI to save lives at sea. Thousands of volunteers and staff give their time, skill and commitment. The RNLI receives no UK government funding, so financial support provides first-class lifeboats and equipment, such as the new lifeboat station at Exmouth
Devon Wildlife Trust 
The Devon Wildlife Trust (DWT) is concerned with all aspects of wildlife conservation in the county and is part of The Wildlife Trusts throughout the UK and the South West Wildlife Trusts. With nature reserves throughout the county, DWT is closely involved in land and marine management, surveying, policy formulation and education.
WaterAid
WaterAid is an international development charity whose work is helping to overcome poverty and the astonishing levels of illness and childhood mortality among the world's poorest people. It supports self-help projects which provide access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene education. To a great extent it does this with the active support and advice of volunteer experts from the UK water industry.
